Granny's Birthday

Granny, Mason, and I spent the weekend in Helen and Amicalola Falls.  The weather was perfect and the scenery was amazing! 

Helen, GA has one of the largest Oktoberfest celebrations so we stopped for lunch on our way to Amicalola Falls.  We enjoyed German sausage, German beer, and a wide assortment of people...it was a great day for people watching.

The next day we hiked the waterfalls.  All the walking must have really worn Mason out; he was asleep before we even began our hike back to the top (425 stairs!)

At 5 months, Mason had a couple of firsts...

St. Simons Beach

We spent a long weekend at St Simons Island.  There was a lot of sun and relaxation.  You'd never know this was Mason's first trip to the beach.  Not only did he love lounging in the pool and bouncing around in the waves, but he also seemed to like the taste of the sand - must be an acquired taste.

Collins' 40th Wedding Anniversary

The Collins' children threw quite a party! In celebration of Howard and Bonnie celebrating 40 years together, we wanted to make sure the evening was unforgettable. Invitations were sent, flowers were ordered, the cake was made to resemble the wedding cake served 40 years ago, and all of this happened without either one of Ben's parents finding out about it.

Katie and Tom flew down from New York, we packed up the dogs and Mason and headed to Macon for the weekend. Whispered conversations were had behind their back and lies were told (to protect the innocent), but it all ended beautifully. The surprise was pulled off without a hitch.
